The Challenge
Cancer patients in the province of Rieti undergo chemotherapy in a local setting where continuity of care is a fundamental value. The Oncology department was looking for a non-pharmacological tool capable of reducing anticipatory anxiety and distress during infusion sessions, which would be accessible to a diverse population and manageable by staff without added complexity.

Our strategy
We have activated LEMO in Oncology with staff training and shoulder-to-shoulder support during the initial sessions. Immersive experiences accompany patients throughout the duration of the infusion, reducing the perception of time. Adoption has quickly consolidated: staff propose the headset as part of the routine care.
